⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Council Tools Bad Boy Axe
This is an axe that just does good work. Having had the less expensive red headed Boys Axe that Council makes, it just did not hold an edge after attacking Georgia hardwoods; needed to be sharpened multiple times in a days work. The Velvicut is the step above that holds a razor sharp edge and makes big chips when felling or bucking and makes easy work out of limbing and still retains the ultimate handle geometry. This is my go to axe and I have several Swedish made variants. The 2.25# head on a 28" handle is just the perfect compromise. Does big work in a not so big package. I fell with it, I buck with it, I limb with it, I process firewood; it just does well at all of that. And its still not too large to pack on a 4-5 mile hike to remote camp. I used to carry a Gransfors Bruk Small Forest Axe and then stepped up to the Scandi Forest Axe. The Bad Axe can do twice the work in the same amount of time as the GB Scandi Forest at the expense of 3" overall length and a pound. If I had it to do all over again and could only buy one axe, this would be it.
