The Diomedes XCarry 518 Reaper sheath (formerly the “XCarry Reaper”) was initially designed for Fiddleback Forge 3 Finger Joe before evolving to also fit other knife models of similar size as well.
The Reaper is aptly named due to its unique coffin shape, which makes it great for knives with blunt tips, wharncliffe blades, and sheep's foot blades. Although they may "fit" blades that are more pointed, we don't recommend them for thin, pointy blade tips. The lack of welt contact on the blade in the sheath's interior could lead pointier knives to pierce the bottom of the leather welt...thus exposing the blade tip and damaging the sheath. Obviously, that would we less than ideal. The standard XCarry sheaths are better for those blades.
The XCarry style leather belt sheath is made for ambidextrous carry (left or right side), as well as either horizontal or vertical on your belt. The genius X loop on the back of the sheath allows you to thread your belt through in either configuration. This versatile sheath will allow you to match your carry to your activity. From traditional fitment to full horizontal cross-draw, you can do it all with one sheath!
Each XCarry sheath is beautifully hand-cut and hand-stitched from 8-10 oz oiled and drum-dyed leather, giving each sheath a rich finish and color. For vertical carry it fits belts up to 1.75". For Horizontal Carry it fits belts up to 1.25". Thickness of belt can affect fit and may require a few days of wear to break in the sheath leather to your particular belt.
