Fiddleback Forge Kephart Knife - Rustic Wrap - S35VN
All the durability, with none of the worry...the "Rustic Wrap" is a minimalist handle design made by lining the blade's tang with leather strips and wrapping the entire handle with hemp twine. The entire handle is then soaked in a resin and allowed to dry to a hard, durable finish. It's a similar process that is used to create Micarta scales used on it's brothers of the same model design...except this is done with the scales/wrap in place on the handle. It creates a rustic handmade feel to the knife and the result is a durable, lightweight knife with all the functionality you would come to expect from a Fiddleback Forge. As soon as you pick up a Rustic Wrap model, it's light weight and extreme grip let you know you have the right tool to get the job done. You never have to feel guilty about using your "prettier" knives for the tough tasks.
The Fiddleback Forge Kephart is Andy Roy's take on a bushcrafting classic. Horace Kephart was a famous outdoorsman in the early 1900’s. His spearpoint outdoors knife has become a popular American knife pattern. Andy Roy added some curves to the Fiddleback Forge rendition. While Andy's modern design doesn't look like Horace’s, it does pay homage with the same spearpoint at its heart and also features a comfortable working handle, with a bit more guard than most. You'll enjoy looking at its amazing lines as much as you'll enjoy using it for the tough outdoor jobs.
We recommend the Diomedes XCarry Knight Sheath for the Fiddleback Forge Recluse. Sheath sold separately.
