The Fiddleback Forge Bushcraft Puukko is based on one of Fiddleback’s oldest patterns and has been in production for over six years...the Hiking Buddy. The Bushcraft Puukko Field Knife is essentially a Hiking Buddy with the hand-guard on the tang removed. The shaved hard guard makes it easy to guide a ferro rod along the handle edge with the blade side down, sending a shower of sparks in the right direction without damaging the cutting edge itself.
Like our other field knives, the Bushcraft Puukko is made of rugged, superior materials that truly set it apart from similar models. This knife is perfect for small cutting chores during a hiking trip, from slicing to making snacks along the trail, or light food prep on an over-nighter. Besides the advantage of having a fixed blade that will not close on your fingers like a folding knife can, you can prepare messy food with no worries of it getting stuck into nooks and crannies in the knife handle. There is no argument that a fixed blade on a belt is far more hygienic than a folded blade in a pocket.
Like all Fiddleback Forge Field Knives, this knife is a "mid-tech" production knife that features precision, pre-machined parts hand assembled and tooled by the Fiddleback Forge artisans to produce a knife engineered for hard work.
This knife is designed to be lightweight and portable to ease the weight load on long hiking trips, but large enough to pitch in when larger tasks arise.
A top quality, leather sheath with belt loop is included, crafted by JRE Industries.
