Customer Review: Fiddleback Forge Camp Knife - Field Knife Edition (Mid-tech)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ THE BEST field knife available anywhere
This is hands down my favorite field knife. It is made of CPM 3V and comes beyond sharp. I own a lot of knives, some I designed myself and had made to be "perfect" for me, this one somehow incorporates about every aspect of my personal preferences. I guess that people who spend a lot of time in the woods just know what makes a knife ideal for the tasks encountered "out there". Why is it perfect? It is big enough to chop, yet small enough for detailed task, and not too heavy and burdensome. Its steel stock is thick enough to be strong and never break, but again not too thick to be unwieldy. The weight distribution and balance is perfect. The handle is long enough to allow a multi position grip and to choke back for extra chopping power without losing control. The ergonomics are fantastic in that there are no hot spots with extended use, and no hand fatigue because the handle is either too big or too small. For me, it IS perfect. Yes, I am VERY impressed by this blade and it is a home run by FF. As an example of just how good it is, they way I run initial tests with most of my knives is to find the hardest, kiln dried piece of fire wood that I can. I baton it down to kindling size then make a few feather sticks with it. MOST knives cannot even begin to cut some of this wood it is so hard. Normally it requires a good scandi edge to do anything, but this knife handled the feathering with ease. It really does set the standard for all others to follow. I love it. 5 stars.
